WABY was in Saratoga Friday night at Putnam Place, hanging out with great company - singing, dancing and laughing the night away. Joe Mansman and the Midnight Revival Band celebrated their new album release and brought along Gozer and Ginger Geezus for the party.
I had previously written about Gozer and the Midnight Revival Band. I am looking forward to working with Ginger Geezus in the future.
This was my first time catching Gozer live, and I was instantly impressed. The band was incredibly tight – locked in from the first note. Their hard rock/ stoner rock blend melded perfectly with Jackson’s killer vocals. They played a few new songs - Wayward and Monolith - and they have released a new song on Bandcamp. Definitely looking forward to catching these guys out live and when they bring out some new tunes.
Next up was Ginger Geezus, I have seen their name going around for a bit now but had yet to catch them live. Matty D, decked out in his pimp jacket, came out swinging. Their electrifying blues rock style and Matty D’s screaming pipes had the room’s full attention immediately. They kept the party rolling and the drinks flowing, even throwing in a ZZ Top cover that had the crowd roaring. At the end of their set, they hinted towards finalizing their new album up and perhaps running this same show back again for another party. If so, you better not miss it.
The main event for the night, fresh off a 2-week tour throughout the northeast, was Joe Mansman and the Midnight Revival Band. Celebrating their new album “Gas Station Elvis”, the band came out to rock. Always the professionals, their brand of gritty rock n roll showed through on stage and on the new album. High energy, blazing lead guitar and a pounding rhythm section took over the stage when they came on. The energy carried through the set, slowing down for a ballad featuring Joe and Chris, and then ramping back up to close out the night.
The weather is turning cold, but the local music scene is heating up. Check out all three of these bands on their socials to catch them live, and keep an eye on the gig guide over at www.939waby.com and we will see you out there!!!!
