Kuarantine Review Cohoes Music Hall 4/2/26

Six years ago, the world was cast into a chasm that some thought we would never emerge from. There was division, anger, fear, and hatred. The way of life as we knew it came to a halt and the new reality was harsh. With the negative there were some positives though. For starters, you suddenly had an accepted practice of side-eyeing someone who stood too close to you in the grocery store. Another great thing to come of these dark times was the band Kuarantine. On April 2, 2026, in Cohoes we got to witness the “best ‘80s non make-up KISS cover band” in the world.

Led by Pro Wrestling legend Chris Jericho and brought up from behind by supremely talented musicians, Kuarantine brought the party to the Cohoes Music Hall. Band members included drummer Kent Slucher (who easily had the coolest shirt of the night), of Luke Bryan’s touring band, bassist PJ Farley of Trixter, YouTube guitar sensation Charlie Parra, and Upstate New York’s own Joe McGinness.

Opening the show was Bad Marriage, a Massachusetts band packed with late 80’s metal swagger. Featuring Tommy Skeoch of Tesla on lead guitar – and with drummer Mike Delaney and rhythm guitarist Mike Fitz (who has close ties to the boys in Living Wreckage and Shadows Fall) absolutely stealing the show. Bad Marriage came out and put on a tight energetic set, playing hits from their own catalog and even threw in a Saxoncover of “Denim and Leather”, priming the crowd perfectly for Kuarantine.

Chris Jericho, known not just for his wrestling fame but also his work as vocalist of Fozzy, instantly grabbed command of the crowd with his natural charisma. His prowess for jacket size is not as strong, choosing looks over functionality and unable to properly cross his arms and “Put the X in sex”. The band tore through the best of “80’s non make-up Kiss” songs. “I just Wanna,” “Unholy,” “Creatures of the Night,” and more. Joe McGinness unleashed a dream guitar tone in his solo before “Domino.” The band slightly broke character and covered Love Gun and Detroit Rock City, in the flavor of 80’s KISS.

The night of fun was just another great example of the bands that E1 Presents brings to the area, booking the greatest cover bands at local establishments in the Capital Region. The performances of the bands are definitely worth a great night out. If you haven’t been to The Cohoes Music Hall, you have to check out a show there. There is not a bad seat in the house.

As we battle through the cold start to spring, it was great to meet a couple of WABY listeners Dylan and Amanda out tonight. We look forward to catching up with all of you throughout the spring and summer at all the great live music events in the area. Keep an eye on the WABY gig guide and support your local heavy music.
